About

Greetings, wanderer amidst the webs.

I am A. Flaming. I was brainwashed at home (er, homeschooled) by parents who met because of mutual love for Truth (capital T). I am a Christian of some streak or other due to the philosophy of people who influenced my parents.

I was too serious as a young child and gathered a teensy bit too much information, and at twelve the Lord of the Rings put it all together for me. Besides revealing the workings of reality, Tolkien showed me that languages, especially old languages, are pretty cool, to be honest (the word 'cool' is reserved for special occasions when we throw our mediaeval sensibilities out of the window).

Writing has been life-giving to me- I love language that much that I like to craft statements in most excellent ways (barring inevitable incompetence), and it has always fed my soul to do it, as well as to munch on other people's well-stated phrases, sentences and paragraphs. I may be found to be a bit of a monster about the meanings of words. This should invite others to criticise my interpretations of what words mean, but my inner tiger may growl- hopefully I learn to be humble.

But whatever I love in the world I love because of Truth, Goodness and Beauty. I feel immensely blessed to love these three above all else- in them is bliss. All that is worthwhile in life is in them, and I mean that. I questioned 'dogmatic' statements as a child, needing to know why they were so, and knowing that people wouldn't have said them if there weren't some kind of reason.

I like philosophical subjects, writing, music (especially singing voraciously), making things exist that I like because otherwise I won't get to have them, walking barefoot, solving problems (do I 'like' this, or do I imagine I do because I can't but do it?), eating good food (so I cook and bake), and obsessing about doing things well and excellently (omnomnomnom, crunchable and munchable). And who knows what else.

  1. I enjoy your thoughts.
By some strange breadcrumb path, I made my way here. You had followed an account I made on Instagram to promote my blog, and I decided to visit your blog this evening.
If ever you want a penpal, do let me know. I would love to have another female to discuss philosophical matters back and forth with, though you are far more skilled than I in matters of prose I can tell.

    1. Oh, thank you so much. I didn't imagine when I started this blog that random people on the internet would actually decide to stop by for more than a glance.

I'll keep your invitation in mind. :)
